Quest offers the Colorectal Screening (FIT) Home Collection Kit, a fecal immunochemical test (FIT) that detects hidden blood in your stool. This test is intended for adults aged 18+ without symptoms of colorectal cancer. The presence of blood may be a sign of lower gastrointestinal disorders such as colon cancer. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults aged 45 to 75 be screened annually for colorectal cancer. This Quest kit enables you to collect your water-based stool sample at home and to ship it back to a Quest Diagnostics laboratory for testing and results. You will need access to the internet to create or log into an existing Quest account, to activate your kit, and to view your test results. Please note you must activate your kit and collect and ship back your sample on the same weekday. After your sample is received, it generally takes up to 14 business days to process and release your test results. However, processing times may vary. Test results are available online in a clear, downloadable lab report from Quest Diagnostics that can be shared with your doctor.
